 Springfield Self Storage offers flexible, do-it-yourself storage for domestic and business customers. We provide clean, dry, storage spaces, access to which is available free of charge seven days a week. Your space (from a small locker to a huge room) is locked with your own padlock, ensuring that only you have access to your things. Don't worry if you do not have your own padlock, we sell a full range in our stores. Access is free and unlimited during our generous opening hours, seven days a week. How much does it cost to get some space from Springfield Self Storage?

The cost depends upon the size of space you require. To work this out, we suggest you use our online size estimator, or speak to a member of our staff. You can then get a quote on a room of the right size. At Springfield Self Storage we have spaces ranging from a 10 sq. ft. locker to rooms of over 500 sq. ft. - and prices start from as little as £10 a week. We do not charge VAT on storage rooms.

What is included in the price - and are there any hidden extras?

The price you are quoted by our staff includes your storage charge, rates, service charges, utility bills and maintenance costs. We don't charge VAT on our spaces. You will need a padlock to secure your room and your goods will need to be insured whilst they are in storage. A refundable security deposit equal to one week's storage charge (four weeks if you do not sign a direct debit) is payable when your storage starts, and is refunded when you vacate your storage room.

Do I pay weekly or monthly?

We invoice customers on a four weekly (28 day) basis, payable in advance. However, we only ask for seven days notice when you vacate your space - and we refund any unused storage and insurance charge.

Do you offer any discounts?

We run regular offers for both new and existing customers so it's always worth checking with your nearest store.

How can I pay for my space?

We offer a number of payment options including credit card, debit card, cheque and direct debit. Cash will only be accepted for payments after your initial payment when you move in.

How often can I access my space - and how much will it cost?

We offer unlimited access to your goods seven days a week 365 days a year, so you can add or remove items from your space whenever you require. Access is free at during our generous opening hours. However if this is not convenient we also offer extended access between 5am and 11pm (though you will have to pay a small additional administration charge).

Do I have to pre-book a space?

No, you can fill in your storage licence today and move in immediately. However to be guaranteed a room of a specific size on arrival, it is advisable to book your room in advance. The reservation deposit is £10 and this holds your room for up to four weeks.

Can I move in today?

Yes, a member of our staff will fill in our simple storage licence with you, and then you can move your goods in straight away. You will need to bring with you a suitable proof of identity (a passport); proof of address (a utility bill); and any means of payment except cash.

What are your opening hours?

Springfield Self Storage customers can access their space seven days a week during our generous opening hours: Monday - Friday 7am - 6pm Saturday 7am - 2pm Sunday ( 10am - 2pm by pre arranged appointment only ). However you can also arrange extended access between 5am - 11pm - for a small additional charge.

Do I have to sign a lease?

No you don't. You sign a straightforward Storage Licence prior to 'moving in' to your space. Our staff will talk you through the contents of this simple agreement to make sure you understand the key points of what you're committing to.

How do people get their things to Springfield Self Storage?

If your own vehicle isn't suitable for transporting your things to Springfield Self Storage, we can recommend local van hire and removal companies to help - often at discounted rates. The companies we recommend are our trusted partners and have worked with us over many years. When you arrive at Springfield Self Storage, you'll find we offer lots of free car parking for customers and large loading/unloading areas.

How big are your spaces?

Our smallest rooms are one metre cubed lockers (3ftx3ftx3ft). Our walk-in storage rooms are seven to nine feet high and range from 15 sq. ft right up to 150 sq. ft. in some cases.

Can I transfer to another room if I find I have too much or too little space?

You are welcome to move to another size room at any time, depending on your storage requirements (and, of course, the availability of other room sizes at the store).

How high are the ceilings your storage spaces?

Our rooms range from seven feet to over nine feet in height, depending what level your unit is at Springfield Self Storage .

Are the storage spaces heated?

Our rooms are not heated. However, the temperature within our stores remains fairly constant, notwithstanding the season. Our modern buildings are very well insulated so that our stores are never too hot or unduly cold. We have temperature controlled areas in some of our stores which are ideal for the storage of sensitive items. Please contact us for further details.

What sort of security do you have?

Springfield Self Storage incorporates extensive security features, including:

  • 24 hour Digital CCTV located both inside and outside the main building, monitoring all entrances and exits.

  • A sophisticated alarm system for the building and storage space.

  • Coded electronic gate access to the building allowing access only with your own personal PIN Number.

  • A fire and smoke detection systemMonitored security system able to react to any alarm activations

What is the minimum time I can store with you?

Our minimum storage period is seven days.

How long can I stay?

You are welcome to stay for a week, month, year - or for as long as you need.

Do I have to give you notice to leave?

We only require seven days notice of your intention to vacate your space. At this time a refund will be processed for the initial security deposit and any unused monies that you have paid. Notice must be given in writing, either by fax, post or email.

Are there any restrictions on what I can store?

You can store almost anything at Springfield Self Storage. The only exceptions are: · 

  • Living items, such as animals and plants. 

  • Hazardous materials, such as flammable liquids and explosives.

  • Items that could decompose, such as exposed foodstuffs.

  • Unauthorised or illegal goods, such as drugs or firearms.

What other security measures do you have?

Customs and Police have statutory powers allowing them to gain access to your space should they serve the appropriate notice on Springfield Self Storage. We also conduct random sniffer-dog patrols at our stores for the protection of all our customers.

Can I buy boxes and packing materials from Springfield Self Storage, and do you deliver?

Yes, we sell an extensive range of packing materials from boxes to bubble wrap. Packing materials can be bought in person from our stores or you can order storage packs online from and have them delivered to your door.Y

Are there trolleys at Springfield Self Storage?

There are a number of different size trolleys and pallet trucks available free of charge for customer use. We also have a forklift truck available for any palletised goods, which can be operated on your behalf by one of our trained staff.

Is there assistance at the store if I have a problem?

There will always be a trained member of staff available seven days a week during reception opening times. Should you require assistance outside of office hours there are telephones located in our loading bays and lift lobbies that will connect you to our security company.

Where is Springfield Self Storage Store?

Just 3 Minutes from Junction 32 of the M4. Take the A470 towards Pontypridd, take the Caerphilly exit and turn Left and the bottom of the Slip road and left again at the next roundabout, 400 yards on your left and your Here.
